- Waffles
- 2 large eggs separated
- 170 ml whole milk
- 70 g unsalted butter melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 200 g self raising flour
- 2 pinches baking powder
- 40 g golden caster sugar
- Chantilly cream
- 150 ml double cream I use elmlea substitute
- 1/2 tablespoon icing sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste essence works well too
Separate the eggs into 2 separate bowls.
Whisk the whites until stiff.
Add the sugar and vanilla to the egg yolks and whisk well.
Gradually add the milk to the egg yolk mix.
Sift the flour and baking powder into a mixing bowl and make a well in the middle.
Pour the egg yolk mix into the middle of the flour and whisk well.
Gently add the egg white mix and fold in, until all combined.
Pour into the waffle maker and cooker for 3-4 minutes for a light golden waffle (or longer if a darker waffle is preferred).
For the chantilly cream
Add the cream, icing sugar and vanilla paste into a bowl and whisk until thick, but not stiff.
