I recently blogged about dreaming of the Big Feastival and am thrilled to be going this year!
This is a relatively short post about what we're looking forward to doing and seeing and what we're packing. As soon as I finish this post I'm heading off to pack the last few things and then jumping in the car to head off to our little cottage in the Cotswolds for the weekend. I'm 'pee my pants excited'!
The foodie Lineup
Electrolux UK have an awesome line up food wise! I never thought you could have so many creative events in one weekend when it comes to food but they have proved me wrong. There's the Electrolux Big Kitchen which has live demo's from a huge list of awesome chefs which you can watch. There's also Chefs secrets which is a hands on cooking tutorial with top chefs, but you need to sign up to asap when you get there at the Electrolux stall if you hope to participate (this is top of my list to do at the Feastival).
All that, and that doesn't even mention the HUGE list of stalls at the Big Feastival market. I'm going to be hard pressed to decide what to eat at the Feastival as the list of pop-up restaurants is also pretty huge! We'll be staying in a cottage about 20 minutes away but I'm hoping we can get a bus or taxi to the Feastival as I wouldn't want to miss out on the Bar Stars either. I'm also looking forward to the cheese hub and learning a bit more about how they make it.
Did I see the words 'pulled pork'? ugh yes I did! (if you didn't already know I'm pretty obsessed with pork) I can't wait to sample some at the Webber BBQ Experience.
The Music Lineup
The music lineup is pretty impressive. The acts I'm most looking forward to are Basement Jaxx and Lianne La Havas on the Saturday, and The Feeling, Mark Owen and KT Tunstall on the Sunday. I only hope I have enough time to fit it all in!
What we're packing
I'm not that well seasoned when it comes to festivals, and to be honest going home to a cosy cottage is a luxury (there were no camping spaces available otherwise we'd have camped). But here are a list of things I'm taking - please let me know asap if I've forgotten anything 😉
- Wetwipes
- A fold up picnic blanket
- Gillet's for rain and cold in the late evenings
- Wellies- just in case
- Jeans, vest tops and cardi's with the odd Dress thrown in JUST in case I wake up to glorious sunshine
- Pretty scarves to keep me warm but looking cool (I'm a freezer)
- A nice big handbag (for all my foodie purchases)
- Sunnies
- Plenty of hair clips in case it pours down and leaves me looking like a poodle
I of course will be taking other essentials but I think those are the main things... I hope.
If you haven't got yours already, there will be some tickets available on the day, but they'll be at a higher price. There are loads of things to do as you can see above (and I've just skimmed the main things we'll be doing). There's even more things to do if you're a family.
