Wine, Cocktails, and More: Your Christmas Drinks Guide

Written by Lisa - Last updated: November 22, 2022

Fancy trying a drink that's a little different than your usual Christmas day tipple? Or just need inspiration for what drinks to get? Well, you're in luck as I have a few ideas to share with you in my Christmas drinks guide 2022:

For the Ethically Minded

I was recently sent some lovely wines from the Italian, Organic wine producer Pomario. I sampled the white wine featured below and also the Rose which was really good.

For the Traditional

Who doesn't have Baileys in their Christmas drinks cabinet?! If you don't, you should! Because then you could also try my homemade baileys hot chocolate.

Non-Alcoholic Christmas Drinks for the Abstainers

Fear not, there are actually some awesome alcohol-free drinks around this year like Belvoir's mulled winter punch, and spiced ginger punch.

I recently had the pleasure of sampling some cordials from a company called Five Valleys too, not only do they taste really good, but they have great recipes on their website too.

The sloe and raspberry flavour (which didn't last long enough for photos) was particularly good and would go very well as a dash in prosecco.

I also got to sample Blue Nun wine, which is renowned as an affordable wine. I'm pleased to say it tasted pretty good too, not too dry, which I like.

So I think this would make a great addition to the table.

For Something Extra Special

Like champagne breakfasts for Christmas? Then this Brut sparkling champagne from Castle Brook is something extra special.

I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for inspiration for sparkling wine.

It boasts an impressive variety of five awards for its flavour.

For a Christmas Night Tipple

I couldn't leave this little gem out. I picked them up from Marks and Spencers recently but you can also buy alternative Christmas hot chocolate online.

Not only do they come in cute little glass cups, which you can keep and reuse, but in just 2 minutes you have a thick creamy brandy hot chocolate.

I have a feeling I'll be going out to buy more.

For a Winter Warmer

This is the second year in a row I have stocked my shelves with not only Marks and Spencer mulled wine, but also their mulled cider and even their mulled rose too (which is my favourite).

Perfect in a slow cooker or microwaved in a mug for one with a slice of orange.

Christmas Drinks Guide 2022 Standout Drink

The star of the show in my opinion was the Marks and Spencer mulled wine; it's perfect for cold Christmas nights. The flavour is rich and spicy, especially when you add a slice of orange.

  1. I'll have to pick up some of the Belvoir and Five Valleys drinks, they look great. Thanks for the M and S recommendation too, I normally make mulled wine but might get a couple of bottles in for visitors which would be much easier!
